“Los Colores de Ecuador” (the colors of Ecuador) is an intensive hummingbird, insect, macro, and flower workshop. You can find some of the images you can expect to get here. The workshop starts with your arrival in Quito on the evening of October 8th and concludes with your flight home late in the evening/overnight on October 15th…putting you back home sometime in the afternoon on the 16th. This tour is designed to maximize your time photographing hummingbirds. The cost is $3,900 per person (based on DO) with a single supplement of $500. This cost includes lodging, transportation, tips for staff, and transfers for the entire trip. No meals are included on your arrival date (Flights usually come in around midnight) but BLD are included the rest of the trip except for the last day out where B&L are include before your departure. Not included are your flight to Quito Ecuador, alcohol, and items of a personal nature. Smoking is not allowed at the lodge or while anywhere near the vehicle.
This workshop is limited to 4 and we will be moving very little to maximize our chances. You should bring your long glass for some of the smaller birds but a 300-400mm lens for the hummingbirds is all that is required (I use my Sigma 150-600mm Sport). Macro lens and macro flash would be best for the butterflies and insects. This is a very easy workshop with almost no hiking and very little walking.
Let me know if you have any questions but I expect this workshop to fill up quickly. A non-refundable $500 deposit is required to hold your spot.
