Yellowstone/Grand Tetons

September 27 – October 7, 2018

Yellowstone/Grand Tetons

Departure point: Jackson Hole, WY (JAC) airport with arrival midday on 27th and plan on flight out morning to midday on the 7th.

This is one of my favorite locations on earth as I return to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for the 20th time.  The cost is $4,495 and is limited to 4 photographers. My price includes lodging (based on double occupancy) and transportation after your arrival in Jackson, Wy airport (JAC) midday on September 27th.  A single supplement is available for $900. I have timed this workshop to take advantage of the moon phase and stricter NPS night photography rules. You must fill out and return my Payment Schedule and release form as well as the emergency contact form to participate on this tour. I am there to provide settings, tips, and techniques for you the entire time. Landscape, wildlife, and even some night photography is also on the agenda.  During travel times I am also available to answer any post processing questions you may have and even possible have a hands on demonstration of my post processing techniques if time allows. You can see more of my work here.  Lodging options on this trip may include the 49’er Inn, Quality Inn, Kelly Inn, Gray Wolf Inn,or Holiday Inn.  All are a bit higher end than other options in the area and are all very clean with wi-fi accessibility. The tour concludes on the morning or afternoon of the 7th with your flight out of Jackson Hole (JAC) airport.

Ana Cris Garcia - Is it possible to book this workshop without accommodations? I will be travelling to Yellowstone for the PSA conference with my RV and was hoping to extend my stay a while. I really enjoy your photographs and look forward to meeting you at the PSA conference.

Roman - Hi Ana,

Actually I get this question a lot so I really should put it somewhere on my site…..but the simple answer is no. I don’t have an itinerary set in stone as things change in Yellowstone quite quickly. Even though I use a “home base” and return every evening, many times the campgrounds are far away and I don’t see how I can accommodate that….especially if we do a night shoot. At that time of year, many campgrounds are closed as well.

Sorry about that but see you at the PSA conference!

Konstantin Georgiadis - Hi Roman,

Is there an option for my spouse (a nature lover but not a photographer) to go along and see the locations and, if so, would there be a surcharge for her tranportation?

Roman - Hi Konstantin, unfortunately, I do not have any options for spouse/non photographer that is less than my normal tour price. Since I only take 4 people, It would not be economically viable for me to take non-photographers at a lower price. I have taken many spouses who love nature and they use the lodging and transportation I provide (as well as meals in some cases) to all my participants and they have enjoyed it immensely. If you are looking at the Yellowstone tour……I have 3 already and wouldn’t be able to fir you both anyway. Sorry.

Jan De Meulder - Roman , I attended both your workshops at the DFW Photo Expo last Saturday, and very much enjoyed your talk.
I am interested in the Yellowstone / Grand Tetons tour.
Do you have one in the spring as well , or is this the best time to visit Yellowstone ? Is there a possibility of snow at that time ? And do you target specific wildlife during that time ?
Thanks
Jan

Roman - Thanks!I currently do not go in the spring but plan on doing one in 2017. The wildlife, buffalo, moose, pronghorn, and elk are usually plentiful. Bighorn sheep, wolves, bear are rare…..but you never know.

Rinku Rajan - Hi Roman, Do let me know about your trips for 2018/2019.
Thank you
